Life As Usual

It seems like life has returned to a predictable routine, but there are still things that make everyday different. Sunday, we had a great church service, and invited a few people over for lunch. It was great to connect with some of the newer people at church including Mom and Dad Janzen, and two other families. We were able to give them the opportunity to visit with others from the church in a smaller setting. Then that evening we were blessed to be able to get out for a date (thanx for babysitting Mom and Dad). Just Tony and I. We tried to go for sushi, but our favourite sushi place wasn't open on Sundays, so we tried out this Italian place down town Vernon, and had the best pasta. We then headed to the theater and caught the early showing of Zorro, which left us in good spirits (as opposed to other shows/movies that leave you depressed). Monday I came down with a cold, and Tony, on his day off, took good care of me, helping out around the house and making dinner. Tuesday I had ladies bible study, and kept my energy up for the morning, but ended up crashing for the rest of the day. Today I'm feeling like I'm getting better. Quinten's sunflower that he planted a couple of weeks ago at Awana Kids Club was getting to big for it's styrofoam cup, so we replanted it this morning. He checks it every day and has commented on every baby leaf, and today his comment was "my sunflower is touching the floor!" since it was hanging over the cup to the ground. We are hoping that it will grow enough inside, since, of course,we can't plant it outside right now.

My other plants are doing well. My friend Kathy gave me a bunch of cuttings last year and they are all doing well. Especially the christmas cactus.

The boys are good at entertaining themselves. This morning they were playing under the island. Malachi went in first and when Quinten came he shuffled over and said"there's lots of room Quin." And then it was " mom take a picture of us!" And so life will continue as usual. Peace.

Hey all,
It's nice to hear that life is back to usual.. sometimes usual is refreshing! I know it's harder to write about those times though. Thanks for keeping up your blog, I love seeing your pictures, and the everyday going ons.
Lots of love,
Julia

The pic of Quin with his sunflower looks alot like Zach... I think so anyway.
Yup, daily goings-on are sometimes considered mundane. I'm beginning to really enjoy the home routine of life in general. I need a good "out of the ordinary experience" once in a while, but I really appreciate steady-eddy dependable days with our kids. They really thrive that way, and I really feel "all together" on those days.
Keep up the good work faithful servant called Mommy!!

I agree with Tanya re: Quin looks a bit like Zach. I was thinking that too when I saw the pics of all of you together. Obviously some Janzen traits in that kid! Malachi, however, still looks a lot like our cousin Colten.
