We were blessed to host the Driedger men this weekend. Austin's hockey team had a tournament here at Armstrongs new arena, so we had the chance to hang out with them in their time off. After traveling 6 or 7 hours through a blizzard, they got to town just in time for Austins first game Friday night. Tony took the boys and watched most of the game with Wayne. The boys loved it. We had a great time catching up with them after some munchies. Wayne is the pastor of the church we attended in Surrey, and Tony's youth pastor from way back when. It was so encouraging to talk with him. Saturday morning we had breakfast together and then the boys had some time to play. Austin is 12, and very friendly. Our boys think he is so fun. He hung out with my little guys and played games with them. After playing go fish, and other
games that the boys all knew, they were kinda getting bored, so I showed them how to play this hockey board game Tony found at Value Village a couple years ago. Austin, being a hockey nut, loved it. But it moved a little slow for Rowan and he quit fairly fast. Shortly there after the guys had to go to the next game, so it worked out great. We had lunch with Wayne while Austin spent the afternoon with his team mates, and said good bye before the third game since they were heading straight home after that. We sure loved having them come out.
