We had a wonderful time at Youth Quake this weekend. We took 14 youth and 4 leaders to Saskachewan for the youth convention there. We left Thursday evening and drove through the night. We did lots fo fun stuff like jousting and other inflateables. We listened to great speakers and had lot of great music. We stopped in Calgary on the way back for dinner at Boston Pizza and met up with a graduate from our youth last year, Melissa, who is in University in Calgary.

Just before we got to Golden we hit some black ice. I was driving and flipped our beautiful van onto it's side against the side of a cliff. Thank God we didn't go off the other side. We are all ok. Not a scratch on any of us. We were all shaken up and now we have a bit of muscle soreness, but otherwise fine. Pics of the immediate veiw of the van on it's side to come. I took these pics of the van once it had been towed to Golden. We spent the night there at a hotel with 8 people per room and all of our bags in the van left on the highway. No PJs ...no toothbrushes till morning when we got the stuff from the van here in the tow truck yard.

We were stuck in Golden till the roads opened Monday at noon. There had been an avalanch just on this side of Golden in the night, plus a bunch of other accidents. We got back to Armstrong monday afternoon. 5 of us went on the bus home, the rest of us were inthe 15 seater van. The Mini van came home on the back of a flat bed trailer, thanx to Ray and Wayne who went out to get it. We have a car, so we figured we would be ok with just that for a while, but after driving it into town yesterday, the starter quit. So amazingly 3 people have offered us the use of their vehicles until we figure out what to do. We have been offered a deal for one of the vans we have been offered, but we can't really afford anything. We didn't have collision insurance on the van. So if you would keep us in your prayers we would appreciate it. We are just glad to be alive and ok.
We want to say thank you to all the parents and friends who have shown us so much grace and love. We appreciated all your prayers and help this weekend.

Oh dear Lord!! I am so glad you guys are all okay. But I wonder, "what next?" AS IF you guys need any extra... financial strains, challenges to life...etc. You have such a good attitude. Yes, God has not lost control, and no He has not forgotten you. Nothing passes His "okay". He never says "oops!" Just continue to be faithful to His promises that His plans are "to prosper you and not to harm you"; and that indeed, somehow, "all things work together for good to those who love Him."
love you guys
Tanya
I finally saw your email yesterday. I am so relieved that you're all okay. Hang in there. I wonder if an observer would have been able to see the angels that obviously protected you from that cliff.
Love you lots.
Beth
