Rowan's Birthday Party
Yesterday was Rowan's Birthday. We had a party for him on sat. We took the boys from his sunday school class bowling. His SS teacher even came :) which all the boys really loved. They had a blast bowling, and eating cake, and jumping all over the room we rented at the bowling ally. Lots of fun.

I'm glad you had a good birthday party, Rowan. Now you're 10! We're having a good time in Japan and have eaten some really wierd stuff, like big thick slices of raw fish, with chop sticks even. At the party that we ate it at the people watched our faces to see what we would do when we ate raw fish for the first time. Julia had helped us to prepare ourselves to be able to eat it: she said to think about it being really tender meat. That helped. It was the raw squid that I had trouble with because it was stringy and tough, and spongy too. We had burritos today which sure was yummy after so much fishy food. Sorry we missed emailing you on your birthday-I have sort of lost track of dates this week. Everything is out of sync.
