Friends and Flowers

I am so ready for spring. By this time... the end of March, I am used to seeing cherry blossoms and forsythias and dafodils. Things around here are getting there, but I have yet to see a cherry blossom. I read online that you can force Forsythias, so I asked my nieghbour if I could take a few branches. they bloomed in four days and now they are getting leaves. My friend at the gardening store gave me liquid vitamin B to put in the water to help them root. I'm looking forward to five new Forsythia bushes in my back yard.
My friend Brittany gave me this gerbera daisy on Sunday. I had been really sick with strep throat (really painful) so she got me a get well flower! She is a real sweetie. Tony has brought me flowers twice resently! I am so blessed. I spent some time in my garden today planting 3 large Lilac bushes, my friend Jill let me dig out of her garden. I just love seeing the little buds on all my plants. It's so promising of something beautiful. I as so blessed with friends and flowers.

Bekah, I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. I'm sending you virtual hugs and get well wishes.

Speaking of spring, I spent an hour weeding this evening when I got home from work - not usually my favorite chore, but I wanted to be outside in the waning sunshine for as long as it was available. Little by little, we're getting there.

I was also going through the pics from our trip to Armstrong last May, and was remembering how bare, dry, and rocky your yard was then. You've done so much work, with that wall and your flowers. I hope your garden grows as well as your boys have been.

Love Beth
