Good Bye Grandpa

We buried my Grandpa Wednesday in Abbotsford. It was a beautiful tribute to his life, so many of us reiterating how his life was a legacy that has been left for us, the next generations. He loved God and passed on his faith to his children and they have passed it on to a lot of the grand kids and great grand kids! Quite a few family members stood up to say how much they appreciated that legacy. Hopefully the others have now seen how important having a relationship with Jesus is. We are praying for all of them, since we love them so much and we would be devastated not to meet up with them again in Heaven!!!
My Grandpa had six kids. Each of them were to choose a pall bearer. The oldest son from each family was chosen. My Dad had all girls. Fittingly he chose my brother in law Devin. We thought that was great. Unfortunately, Beth and Devin weren't able to make it in time for the bearing of the coffin, and, spur of the moment, Tony was asked to take his place. We felt bad that they didn't wait for Devin, but Tony was willing to help.
Great Uncle Abe gave the grave side scripture and prayer, and we all headed to the church.

The Funeral was beautiful with the oldest cousins giving the eulogy, My Great Uncle Abe giving the Sermon, my Dad giving the tribute and Beth doing the slide show (very nicely done Beth). Tony and I were honoured to lead the hymns and sing a special song. My Dad was at Tony's Oma's funeral last week, and really liked the song that was played during the slide show, "Come To Jesus" by Chris Rice, so we learned it and sang it for Grandpa's. Poeple said it made them cry, so that's good...

Hi Bekah!
I was sorry to hear about your Grandpa, but I rejoice with you that he's in heaven with Jesus now! What better place is there than that huh. You can definitely link us to your blog - can I do the same?

Glad to hear you did that song, it would have been nice to do it live at Oma's too, no worries. So How was Black Creek? What's the scoop?
