Black Creek

We spent this last weekend in intense interviews and meetings....actually it was all very fun. Black Creek MB church invited us out since Tony was one of the two candidates for the position of Youth Pastor. We left our kids with Tony's parents and flew to Calgary and then to Comox (yay for a half price fight sale...paid for by the Black Creek Church), anyway we left Friday, had a great weekend and got back Monday. We really think we could fit in there. We feel like they are on the same page we are and are going the same places with what God has been teaching us all lately. They will be interviewing another couple yet, and then inviting one of us back to candidate, and then the vote...you know. It can take a long time. So if you'd like to pray for us, pray that God would give us and the Black Creek Search Committee the same clear direction we are to go. We know that God opens and closes doors in his time, and if this is an open one we'll walk through it.
This is Barry and Sandy, the Pastor couple there. They are so great. We laughed so much with them! This is the front of the church. It's the second oldest MB Church in BC (not the original building though...that one is just down the street)
Saturday, we had a beautiful, sunny day, which we spent with Jon and Lisa on the beach for a fire and wiener roast. They had four Korean students with them and their four boys. It was lots of fun. Thanx guys.

Tony and I needed a coffee fix big time on the way home and had a wonderful starbucks break in the Calgary Airport.

Hi Rebekah, Its Katie (used to be Stewart now Lamoureux) We went to the Langley Vineyard together back when we were both younger. My husband and I also attend Abby Vineyard while we were dating and Chris played baseball with your Dad. I think a few years ago we talked at one of the games when you were there with your boys. I found your blog and just wanted to say hi.

My parents just moved to Comox in May and they love it there. While they were building they rented a three bedroom cottage home from another married couple only about 10 mins from Black Creek. I love the drive out that way and I know of the church you guys were canditating at. I'm praying for you both and knowing God will lead you down the path he has planned.

Hey! Sounds like a great time! We're so praying (and crossing our fingers) for you. Bev was so surprised to see you on the beach with Lisa and John! Oh the small world we live in.

Hey Rebekah! This is totally random, but I found your blog through a mesh of other blogs I also found very randomly...I won't even try to explain, but it's crazy how small this world is! I knew you in highschool(choir)at Abby Sr. You were in grade 12 and I was in 10. Rowan was just a little man then! And one more totally bizarre comment...My husband and I wanted to buy your mobile home in Armstrong!! We're in Calgary, but we're looking to move to the area, and it was in our price range and TOTALLY neat and well-kept. We were SO excited about it, but found out that it was sold just before we wanted to come out and take a look! When I was skimming through your posts I saw pictures and was shocked to find out it was you who owned it! Way crazy! Anyway, just wanted to say hi!

Hey Katie and Karyn! Wow, it's cool that you found me. I remember Katie, and I've acutally been to your blog through somebody's I can't remember...but I thought it was you! Thanks for the encouragment. Karyn, I'm still trying to place you, but that is so cool that you wanted to see our place! We really loved it, and I was sad to sell it, but I know God has another place for us to go, so I'm glad we are able to up and go when it's time. Were you in choir in highschool with me? I'd love to see your blog, but I can't get there from your profile. Maybe I'll be able to remember, and if not, I can call you a new friend:)
Cheers!

Sorry, for some odd reason it won't connect from here...www.theclemens.blogspot.com.
It's ok that you don't remember me, I just have this odd ability to remember people. Yes, I was in choir with you. I'm Julia's age, and I think she and I had a couple classes together. I remember that your mom's house is on Bourquin/Nelson, and I remember one time when you got quite upset with Ms. MacDonald(choir director) for calling you "Bekah", and you told her never to call you that again. Haa haa! See, I remember weird things. Anyway, I've got to head out and do some shopping!
Later!

Wow, I had quite a chuckle when I read your comment. Karyn you might rethink your pride in your memory:) I AM amazed that you have remembered all that, unfourtunately, you didn't quite remember things acurately...:) honest mistake...I'm sure Julia will remember...since you were in her class. I remember Miss McDonald for sure, but I wouldn't have gotten mad at her, EVER, I loved her, but what I did say was that no one calls me BECKY, I go by Bekah all the time. And, my parents don't live on Bourquin, but close!
So glad to be part of your blog favs:) Hope you come back soon.

Whatever, it was ages ago. Sorry 'bout that. I don't know whether Julia will remember me either. It's just neat to see what people are up to, whether they remember me or not. I know you weren't MAD at her(Ms. MacDonald), just upset that she called you something you didn't like...that's all.
Anyway, have a great weekend.
