Surgery

On Monday Quin and Malachi went to the hospital for surgery. Quin had tubes put into his ears and Malachi got his Tonsils and adenoids out. Quin was recovered and ready to go two hours after surgery, Malachi on the other hand had to spend the night and has had a rough go of it.
Tony watching the oxygen and heart beat monitor: watching his heart rate speed up and oxygen plumate when Malachi stops breathing like he usually had due to swollen tonsils and adenoids, now due to a cold and swelling from sugery.

Getting your tonsils out is worse than just adenoids, and the poor guy has refused to take pain meds. We have forced him to take anitbiotics, but if he wants to feel it all...so be it, as long as he eats and drinks well, which he has. His breathing has improved a great deal already and the swelling is starting to come down. He must be sleeping better and night because Friday was the first day ever that he wanted to go to school...although we didn't let him yet...and today was a great day where he was happy to do the small chores we gave him and was helpful and pleasant. If this is the new Malachi that we were hoping for, it's great. Our Pastor's wife Sandy had a picture of Malachi like tigger on Sunday when she was praying for him. Today it was shower time and he bounced off to the bathroom just like tigger! (We hadn't shared Sandy's picture with him yet) Usually it's a huge fight and he screams like I'm cuttin off his arm to get him to wash his hair...not today! He didn't even mind I was using new shampoo! Praise God.
