House update

Things for the house are coming along. We got a call from the inspector today, and had told us about all the stuff in that house. Most of it we knew and were planning to change anyway, but there were a few things we will have to deal with right away. One was the chimney is capped off, but we were gonna need a pro to come and install the wood stove anyway. Tony is looking into options for fixing a few other things. The inspector said that we'll have a good little house there. Right now there is nothing even close to the price of this house, even with the extra 20- 30 thousand that we'll put into it. So we feel that it is still a good plan and we'll go for it. Other houses with some of the same problems fixed are selling for over 300 thousand. This house will end up at around 250, after renos. It'll take some work, but we are willing to do that:) We'll figure out how to get the most out of what we have. Mennonites are good at that:) The subjects have to come off by the 13th. So we'll be making sure of everything after the weekend.

The real estate market is crazy! We were looking at houses here in Chilliwack - a 1970's BC box style home that is a fixer upper is $320,000 minimum. We could eadily get $250,000 for our 2 bedroom townhouse. It's nuts!
