More About Last Weekend
The other thing that happened last weekend was the retreat in Abbotsford that a few of the ladies from our church attended. It was a retreat for ladies who are involved in leadership in their churches. Ministry directors, Pastors, and worship leaders..etc.. There were about 40 ladies there. It was so great to have a chance to talk with our little group on the way down there. 4 hours can go pretty quick when you're having fun. We went a day early to get in a little shopping while in Abbotsford, and to be there in time for the beginning of the retreat which started at 8:30 am. Some of us stayed with family and some stayed with Lori (one of the ladies that came to our retreat at Eagle Rock Ranch Last year) The retreat started with Breakfast and then some great worship. I was overwhelmed with the sense that Angels were surrounding us, praising God with us. There we three sessions with a different speaker each time. It was a great teaching time. The theme of the day was "Button, button, what pushes your button". There was also a time for listening prayer, and I got to pray with two of the speakers! I was honored. They prayed with me and God gave me a picture. (you'll have to call me if you want more info about the picture). I wish I was an artist so I could show you the picture. But suffice it to say that I was very encouraged that I am important in God's plans for ABC (of course so are the rest of the people at church). There were quite a few worship leaders at the retreat and Lori had the sense that they needed to pray for us, and anoint us as people on the front lines. In bible times eg. Jericho, Musicians and Dancers were the people on the front lines who lead the people into battle. In the same way Musicians and Dancers lead the way in the spiritual battle now. The worship leaders all sat in the middle of the room, and Lori wiped our feat with a towel, symbolizing wiping the dust of the past off our feet. She then anointed our hands with oil, asking God to bless us in our ministry. This was very moving for me because I have kind of fallen into the role of worship leader along with my friend Julie, since we have musical talents and there was really no one else to lead. We both have grown in this role over the last year, and have been affirmed that we are LEADING WORSHIP not just playing some music up there...Anyway, being anointed like that solidified for me that I am doing what I am meant to do, not just because there is no one else to do it, because God has Julie and I there for this purpose. I hope this brief description makes sense:) God Bless you today.
