Emerging traditions

Sunday was our church staff and elders christmas party. I made my moms traditional candy cane coffee cake. It turned out great and was a hit at the party. Quin took this picture of me.
Friday we took advantage of the great weather and took Quin and Malachi to swan lake to try out their new skates. There was a lot of slipping around, but Quin managed to stand so I could take a picture.Malachi banged his head pretty hard one time, next time we'll take the helmuts. We warmed up with some hot chocolate, next time we'll bring chairs. Tony used someone elses crate. We hung out on the ice until it was time to pick Rowan up at the Kelowna Air port. From there we headed to Tanya and Jeremy's house to spend some time with them and their kids.

chairs are also a great way to learn to skate. if you hold on to the back of a chair and push it, it helps with balance. the best thing was at the ice scating rink where they have those things like walkers for old people, but with `skis`, you can really whip around on them!! Just so you know, we`re using the pictures of the boys decorating the christmas tree as an example of a `Canadian Christmas Tree traditions`
